very pleasant near the Mersey the breakfast the dining room

A living creature in my wine - a 2mm shrimp-like thing (not a fly) wiggling its legs (not seen until I reached the bottom) - no excuses offered. Loud music at breakfast. Breakfast should start about 06h30 for businessmen. A very cramped room with no room for a chair, and anyway no room to put a chair between the bed-end and the desk = hard to use the computer. Wi-fi did not connect properly

    Superb

I liked the idea that it was very busy but the staff went out of their way to be helpful and cheerful at all times.

For me personally I did find that I did not have time to use the brilliant facilities

Rooms were very comfy, breakfasts were plentiful. The swimming pool, spa area was very relaxing and we used it each day we stayed. Hotel was very accesible by public transport. Only used the bar area once during stay but it was really nice

    Fabulous

Convenient for travel connections and close to Manchester city centre, 5 mins walk from Parrs wood entertainment complex. Friendly staff, good breakfast plenty of choice and freshly cooked, good atmosphere in the bar and staff were attentive. Quiet room although I would ask for this in future when booking as on a Friday/Saturday night some rooms may be near the function room. Pool was lovely and they gym very well equipped.

The room was very small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was horrible, I'd never stay there again.

Good location for my business trip

Room was downstairs and tiny - could not even see the TV from the bed. Bathroom was in need of refurb. No phone signal! Oh, and for a spa/health/sport hotel why no Sky Sports???

    Superb

Very friendly staff and always had a smile, nothing was too much trouble, food was good but limited choice, value for money.

Menu could be improved to more simple meals although food was good. If your staying on a Saturday then it could get a little noisy up to 11:00pm as they had isco that night.

The only thing I can find good to say about my stay was that the coffee was good in the bar.

I chose the hotel for two things: 'set in groomed gardens and grounds' for a bit of peace & quiet and 'free WiFi'. I find that the only space is the car park and the road noise is appalling, right through the night. The free WiFi was at the pathetic rate of 11Mbps when it was functioning at all (it kept dropping out) and the morning of work I had scheduled to do was not possible. The room had only one available plug socket point half-way up a wall under the TV. This meant that charging my phone or working with my laptop plugged in had wires trailing and hanging across to the bed and I had to sit on the bed to use my laptop - why aren't there plugs to use at the small desk?? There was a rip in one of my pillowcases and mould on the ceiling in the bathroom, the chair was so dirty I put a towel over it before I sat on it. I asked for an iron but the plate was covered in rust and other crud which made it unuseable. I would not stay there again. I can only presume that the leisure club part of their business is the most lucrative and therefore they don't bother too much with the hotel side of things. ... and the breakfast was awful!

    Very good

Was good that there was a bar & the leisure facilities were nice. For £60 the room was reasonable.

The rooms are very small & the bathroom was a wet room but tiny - everything got wet!

    Fabulous

It was near to where I was going. The breakfast was excellent

The back was off the plug on the kettle, the mirror light in the bathroom had no toggle on the pull chord and the shower/mixer tap had no knob on the plunger which switches from taps to shower. Over all I would describe the room as shabby>

The leisure facilities were the best thing about the hotel allthough some of the areas were tired looking. Breakfast was adequate.

The wireless did not work when I got there. I actually provided a wireless access point to the hotel for my entire duration which all the other guests used, which was a four night stay in my case. The food was very average, first night had spaghetti and meatballs, the second night I had a burger which was obviously three meatballs pressed together. Did not eat there on an evening after that. Shame! The room had a shower come toilet and basin which when the shower was used soaked the the whole area, including the toilet rolls, towels etc. The toilet was so close to the door you could not sit down properly. Considering I provided the hotel with their wireless service for the week, no discount was given. Disappointing.

    Very good

Hotel easy to find with plenty of parking available.Found staff to be helpful and friendly on arrival and during stay [ one night],Availibility of spa facilities a real bonus.Excellent breakfast in morning.Very good value for money - double room £40 for one night.

Stayed in ground floor room facing car park.Continous noise from nearby motorway all through the night made sleeping very difficult .It should also be noted that the walls between the rooms are very poorly soundproofed and so it is very easy to hear what guests in adjoining rooms are doing .

    Superb

Very helpful staff - we were on a cycling holiday and they went out of their way to store our cycles safely and securely in one of their admin offices.
